E.L.F. 144 piece neutral eyeshadow palette

Hi sweeties!
A few days ago I received my E.L.F. order. I was very happy and excited to use the palettes that I got - and I have used them ever since I got it. Sometimes I use this one, sometimes I use the other, brighter one, it depends on the look I want to make. Today I wanted to review this neutral palette for you.

This palette is called the 144 Piece neutral eyeshadow palette review and it was $16. Quite cheap for all the colours you get! When I first looked at the palette I thought two things. The first thing was: "Woah, I can make so many looks with this thing!" and the second thought was: "Oh gosh, how am I ever going to use all of these?"
There's a lot of choice, if you don't find a colour that you like in this palette, I might not understand you. Also, this huge variety of colours makes sure that there are colours in this palette for every skintone. I think this makes a great, inexpensive but impressive gift!

Some swatches of random colours in this palette. Some of them are less pigmented but most of them are pigmented very well! The picture below is a picture of eight different colours that I swatched. The pictures are taken with natural daylight.

Great, isn't it? I am in love with this palette! Thanks for reading!

Catrice absolute nude palette review!

Hello sweeties! Thanks for tuning in again today!
As you probably know if you read this blog often, I like to try out new palettes. Coloured palettes, but neutral palettes I like the most.
Quite a while ago I got a new everyday neutral palette but I never wrote about it. It is what I use to create my daily looks though. I'm going to review it for you today.

So this is how my palette looks, I think it looks fabulous! It reminds me of the Urban Decay naked palette. It holds six nude colours.

Here are the swatches! The first picture is how the colours look with natural light and the second picture is how they look with flash.
The pigmentation could have been a little bit better. I don't have problems with getting the colours on my eyelid though. Easy to apply, build up and blend, no fall out.

Aside from the remark that the pigmentation could have been a little bit better (but hey, what am I actually doing, comparing a $5 to MAC quality), I have no other remarks. I do really like this palette. It holds colours for any occasion and any kind of look, love it! I already want to get a second one, just in case I hit pan on one of the colours soon.
I would recommend this palette to everyone who is just starting out with makeup or to girls who just really like the neutral look on their face. This palette is really nice ànd affordable.
Have a great day!

Affordable eyebrow products - affordable series part 8

Hello dear, thanks for reading again! Today I'm continuing my affordable series and this time I'm going to be talking about something that's very important to me: eyebrows.

I used to be very very insecure about my eyebrows but my mom would let me walk around with ugly growing eyebrows even in high school when everyone else was getting theirs done and they looked so good. I got so desperate (yes, really), that I decided to do them myself. Which didn't work out. Unfortunately. So these days I draw them and of course I have a few budget favourites!

I only have two favourites that I'd like to share it with you, it's really hard to try to please me with eyebrow products, but these two brands did it!

The first brand is E.L.F. cosmetics. I got their eyebrow kit called "Ash", which comes with a gel and an eyeshadow - totally new for me, this gel thing! I do really like it though, I always use the gel to define my eyebrows and the eyeshadow to fill it in! Works great! I've actually hit pan on this gel and I've only had it for a month! Oh, it also comes with a mirror by the way!

Next I have my Catrice eyebrow kit which has been a long time favourite. Two colours, a mirror, a brush and tweezers. Wow. The pigmentation is nice too and the lightest colour matches me perfectly, which I always love! I use the darkest colour for my arch and the lightest colour for everything else. Love love love! I'm about to hit pan!

Thank you for reading! If you have any other good eyebrow products to recommend, let me know, I'd love to try some new things!

E.L.F. lipstick review

A lipstick as red as a cherry. What pin-up girl lover wouldn't like that?! Years and years, since the start of my pin-up, vintage ànd makeup obsession, I have been looking for "the perfect red". A few weeks ago I saw this baby online and I decided to order it! What am I talking about? I'm talking about "Cheerful Cherry", a lipstick by E.L.F. cosmetics!

First things first: the packaging! I'm probably not the only one who tends to "like the product more" when the packaging is cute. I don't know, cute packaging is just a way to trick me into buying the product! Ah, marketing tricks! I know what you are, I just can't resist you!

This lipstick comes in a matt black tube, which I love. I don't know why, but I have this thing with matt packaging. I like it with lipsticks and I love it when my foundation has matt glass. I just think it looks fancy. Aside from the brand name "eyes lips face" there are no other details, no patterns or anything. I don't think that's needed either.

Here's what I saw when I first opened the tube and rolled out the lipstick. As you can see, a beautiful red appeared! Love-ly! I don't think it looks like a cherry, because it's not very deep red, but that's okay! It has more of an orange undertone to it, I think.

Swatch! Even though this is a very cheap product, the pigmentation isn't crappy! Don't you just love it when that happens? I know I do!

And this is how it looks on my lips! Even though it's a matt lipstick, it looks a little bit shiny on my lips. I'm not bothered by that, I think my lips look very moisturized and healthy this way.
The lipstick glides on, it's quite creamy which makes it smooth and oh so easy to use. Without eating, this lipstick lasts me quite long but after eating lunch I did have to touch up a little.

That's it! Conclusion? I love this lipstick! Budget but good quality. Nice to use, lovely packaging. Yeah, I'm quite happy with this lipstick! More to come...?
Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day!

NEW IN: Swing dress! ♥

Hi lovelies! How are you all doing?
I hope you are enjoying your holiday! I am! I am getting ready to go back to school and resting a little bit now I still can, because next year is going to be super busy! Anyways, I wanted to show you a new dress that I got! It's a swing dress and I think it's really adorable!

Just like all of my other vintage dresses, I got this at an online shop called "Topvintage". They have the nicest, good quality dresses and their costumer service is lovely! I ordered the wrong size (the information box said you had to take a size smaller and I took my regular size) so they fixed it for me even before sending it, which is sweet because other wise it would have cost me money to send it back and receive the right size!

The belt does not come with the dress, I just thought it looked cute. The hair flower that I have here is by H&M.

That's it! My new dress! Oh, and also, during school, I'll try to get more "outdoor outfit pictures".
I hope you enjoyed my little post (and sorry for not posting a lot this summer, I've just been working a lot).
Thanks for reading! Stay safe!

Always,
Mamie Monroe ♥

Curly swirly!

Hi everyone!
Remember my post about my swirl and how it wasn't working out for me? I did it! I finally did it! My swirl is flawless today! I don't have anything to do today so I was like: "Hey, let's practice my makeup and swirl!" and it worked out!
I am so happy and I hope next time it'll go as smooth as it went today! Maybe I'm just too impatient, but I can't try more than fifteen times without going crazy!
Anyways, I wanted to show you the pictures!

Thanks for reading!
